“Pet sitting” is defined as “the act of caring for a pet in its own home while the owner is away.” Dog walking is also a form of pet sitting since it involves coming to the pet’s home to provide exercise and companionship.

Our pet sitting service includes the following:

There is no such thing as an official pet sitting license in the state of North Carolina. We are Certified Professional Pet Sitters and also certified in Pet First Aid and CPCR.
LCPS is certified through Pet Sitters International (the leading international educational organization for professional pet sitters). Certification involves successfully passing a Certified Professional Pet Sitter exam every 3 years. The exam tests our knowledge on dog and cat behavior, basic anatomy, common diseases, animal first aid and health, parasites and sanitation, pet loss, pet sitter health and safety, business operations, customer service, disaster planning, ethics, legal issues, pet sitter liability, marketing, office procedures, and much more. We also must attend 10 hours of continuing education each year and adhere to the Pet Sitters International Member Code of Conduct.
Holiday rates include a 50% holiday surcharge.

Yes. We will administer meds according to your specific instructions and can provide insulin injections to diabetic pets. There is no extra charge for this service.
We retain your emergency contact information with us at all times. We always contact you first for minor incidents or concerns. In the case of a serious emergency, we will contact you as soon as your pet reaches the veterinarian and is under care. Your signature on the Vet Notification Card allows us to seek care in the event that you can not be reached in an emergency. You have the option to specify a monetary limit if this should occur. We charge a $30/hour fee for emergency veterinary trips. This covers transportation to the veterinarian and back to your home. We can stay with your pet during examinations and wait for testing if needed.
For our Signature 24-Hour Day & Night Pet Sit Package, we are willing to travel up to 20 miles from the 27613 zip code. We can travel outside this base service area if travel time ($10/hour) and mileage ($0.50/mile) are reimbursed.
For drop-in visits, our service area is limited to within 5 miles of 27613 zip code. Distances further than this are dependent upon availability and incur a $0.50/mile travel surcharge.

A Meet & Greet visit is offered at no charge within our base service areas. It gives us the chance to meet in person, get to know the personalities of your pets, and the details of their routines and home care. This initial meeting generally take 30-60 minutes depending upon the number of pets you have and the complexity of their care. Meet & Greets are required for ALL new clients prior to the beginning of service.
Yes, we bring in packages, mail, newspapers, etc. If you have a food delivery, let us know and we will put it in your refrigerator.

Absolutely! Loving Care Pet Sits is a one woman operation. While I do have emergency backup contacts who can cover in a pinch, I will personally be the care giver for your pets. I look forward to meeting you at the Meet & Greet.
Loving Care Pet Sits requests the name and phone number of a person living nearby. If the we are physically unable to reach your home due to impassable roads, we will contact that person. Your pets’ health and well-being is our utmost concern and we will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed of these events.
No, please understand that we have made time for your visits and may have turned other people down to allow time for your pets. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Once service begins, there are no refunds or credits.
Provided your pet is moderately well behaved on a leash, we would be delighted to take them out for an extended walk or on a field trip to nearby trails. Any time your pet heads out with us on one of these extended adventures, they will be wearing a GPS tracker to ensure their safety and provide a record their activities.
