What sets Loving Care Pet Sits apart?
We're the next best thing to you being home!
My overnight service is very different than most. Rather than just being with your pet for 9-12 hours, my overnight service is 24 hours of all inclusive care for your pet in your home. I commit to being with your pet a minimum of 16-20 hours during that 24 hour period.
The base fee covers all meals, walks, administering meds, bringing in the mail, watering plants, etc, etc.
I am an avid walker/hiker. If your pup is interested in exploring the neighborhood, or better yet, hitting some local trails, let’s go! If your pup is more of a home body, I love a big cushy chair too and can certainly come up with backyard or indoor games, or heck, just do lots of snuggling if that’s more their speed. I’m also very comfortable with cats and their unique needs and personalities. Our cat, Sassafras, is quite the demanding diva. I’ve been in her service for over 16 years now.
A word from the owner
Rachel DuBois
Our home has been a bit of a Noah’s Ark of pets and animal care. The list of animals I’ve cared for, fostered, and/or welcomed into our family includes dogs, cats, chickens, parrots, cockatiels, bearded dragons, snakes, guinea pigs, mice, gerbils, hamsters, fish, turtles, frogs, honeybees and even a huge Red Tailed South American Catfish by the name of Bertie! Our family currently includes 2 dogs, a cat, and 14 chickens.
I’ve been working with a local animal rescue (Saving Grace NC) since 2016 and am on both their vaccination and the intake teams. (I LOVE getting to be the welcoming committee for the new arrivals!) As a result of all my volunteer experience, I am quite comfortable giving injections and meds.
Our family has fostered many animals in our home in conjunction with our local animal rescue. We’ve had 160+ puppies/dogs pass through our home over the years on their journey to find their forever home and we’ve had the honor of having 3 mommas give birth in our home.
I’m recently retired, our girls are older now, and I have a very flexible schedule. I love exploring new areas of central NC whether it’s a city, small town, or rural setting.
As a care giver in your home, I would treat your pets just as conscientiously as I do my own. I look at my pet sitting time as a personal retreat for myself where I get to focus on somebody else’s home and pets for a change. I love getting to meet new critters and all their fun, unique, quirky personalities. I love to read, hike, do yoga, and prep delicious food. During my stay, I would anticipate actually being in the home 75% of the time with occasional forays to perhaps explore local parks or trails. If your pup is up for a hike/walk, I’d love to take them along!
